About Us

My name is Heidi and my fiance's name is Jason. We are to get married in October 2005, visit our wedding webpage. I created this site to share my happiness of my Great Danes to everyone. They are such wonderful dogs. We own a Blue Male Dane with the registered name of "Griffin Nigel Blue" and a Fawn Male Dane with the registered name of "Kane Starlight Sabin". Our dogs to us our just like our kids. We are going to be a newly wed couple, so we call our Danes our boys since we have no kids, they are our kids. :-)

I have learned a lot about Danes and they are defiantly a breed of there own. You can never learn enough about them. I have learned that they have a lot of special treatment as far as what they are feed, when is to soon to exercise them heavily, and many other things.

One place I have gained a lot of knowledge from is from a yahoo group that I am a part of called "Downey Danes". The people are so friendly and helpful its just great to be so fortunate to find this group. It almost feels as though we are all family.

About Jason and I, we are both born and raised in Ohio and met each other at my family business. We have known each other since 1996 and have been dating since 2002. Jason was born in 1977 and I was born in 1983. We just got a house built in winter of 2004/2005 and now live out in the country.

Downey Danes Group

I am a part of a group on yahoo and its call "Downey Danes", it is a wonderful group and I have met alot of great people and I have gained alot of knowledge. A few wonderful people that I would love to mention are Alex & John they own 3 Great Danes, Libby, Buffy, and Andy and her website is http://ourdanes.blogspot.com/ if you would like to learn more about her and her fur family. Hopefully some day I can meet the both of them in person.

It's to bad that we all live so far apart. As much as I talk to these wonderful people it seems as though I've known them for a long time, but yet have never met in person. I have only been a Dane owner since December 2004, I didn't have enough knowledge when I purchased this wonderful breed. So I got on the interenet and became a part of this group and they welcomed me with open arms and have helped me every step of the way.

Griffin Nigel Blue

Griffin is our Blue Male Great Dane that was born in December of 2004. I will tell a short story on how we decided on the breed of a Great Dane. Jason and I were living in a house up town and decided that if we wanted a dog we had better get one soon, because we would be in our new house in summer of 2005. So we both sat down and researched many breeds. Our specs where, it had to be short hair, get along with cats and kids, fairly good watch dog, and very personable with a family. We went to many different sites and the breed that kept popping up was GREAT DANE.

So I went on the computer and couldn't find the perfect pup that was within driving distance from us, then I ended up calling my Mom up and telling her our problem. She subscribes to Dogfancy Magazine and found a breeder from Michigan. We called him up and he had our little Griffin that we have been searching so hard for. After waiting for 3 weeks to get him, we drove 2 1/2 to go and pick him up. It was love at first site. The picture to the right is Griffin at 6 wks. old.

Griffin is such a great dog, he has a wonderful personality, loves to cuddle, and is a wonderful watch dog. The picture to the left is Griffin at 3 months old after just waking up in the morning.

Griffin loves his toys, everytime Jason and I go shopping it seems as though we are coming home with a new toy for our little boy. This is a picture of him and his new toy raccoon.

As you can see our Griffin loves to take naps...awww...so peaceful..... :-) The picture on the right he is 3 months old and the picture on the left he is 7 months old.

Griffin loves to pose for the camera. Here is a picture of him at 6 months and I think he looks so handsome.

Kane Starlight Sabin

We have an adorable Fawn Male Born in March of 2005. We decided on getting him after seeing Griffin so lonely, he needed a play buddy. So I got back on the internet on puppyfinder.com and found a wonderful breeder in Michigan by the name of Anita Morley. The picture to the left is Kane at 5 1/2 weeks old.








Kane has a totally different personality than Griffin, but I think that's what makes them get along so wonderfully. Kane is very independent and dominant. Just a comparison, Griffin sleeps on the bed, Kane sleeps under the bed. Kane has started doing a very funny thing, when you point at him he starts barking at you and gets all worked up. He must figure that you are trying to be dominant over him, its quit funny. The picture to the right is Kane at 3 months old, he just got his ears rolled.

Right now Kane is almost the size of Griffin at 4 months old. I believe when Kane is 6 months old he will have by passed Griffin in height and defiantly weight. The picture to the left is Kane at 4 months of age laying on his loveseat.

I have taken some cute pictures of the two boys together and thought I would share these with your also. You can see in the pictures how well they get along. I don't know what they would do with out each other. From my experience once you own a Great Dane you can't just have one, you want more and more.... :-) The picture to the left is Kane at 8 weeks and Griffin at 5 months old taking a Knapp.

They love to play, as you can see Kane dominates Griffin even at 8 weeks of age..... lol

Kane is 3 1/2 months old and Griffin is 6 1/2 months. They take a good picture. :-)

Kane just woke up from a afternoon knap and Griffin is still sleepy. Thats there couch where they take there afternoon knaps. :-)

No, there not spoiled at all. ;-)

Kane looks like he is getting tired of Mommy always snaping pictures of him. Of course Griffin poses for the camera.
