Griffin Update

Griffin ended up having sugery to get the bump removed. It ended up being a benign tumor. I was so relieved after hearing the results of the biopsy. He is doing great now, the stitches have almost all dissapeared.
This saturday he has a visit to the nursing home, they are throwing a surprise birthday party for him, since his birthday is Dec 18th. I am making scooby doo cupcakes for everyone to enjoy, so we will have lots to look forward too.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!

Griffins mysterious bump

I have some sad news about Griffin. About three weeks ago I noticed a bump on his foot. I had the vet check it out and they thought it was just a zit. They told me to keep an eye on it and if it was still there in a couple weeks to call back and they would check it out again. Well it hasn't dissapeared and its getting bigger. I called the vet and they came to the conclusion that its a tumor. He is scheduled for surgery on the 28th to get it taken off. They said that they don't think that its cancerous, but there is no guarantee. They are going to get it send into the main lab for further testing. Hope for the best for our baby boy.

Update on the pupkids

Thought I would update everyone on how all the pupkids are doing. Trinity is getting very mature, she is turning into a beautiful young lady. She is a breathtaking steel blue color and has just the best personality. Her and Kane are connected at the hip, although lately she has been starting to warm up to Griffin. She is such a lover, she loves to snuggle and give kisses, oh and loves to be rubbed on her belly for any amount of time. She would lay there all day if we allowed...lol...Her recent weigh in was 107 lbs and almost 30 inches at the shoulder.

Kane is as layed back as ever, and very handsome. He has an awesome personality and so well behaved. He loves to run around with as many toys as he can fit in his mouth and show them off to whomever is around at that moment. He is getting very good with strangers that come to the house. He used to hide behind me and growl, but now as long as I give him the ok, then he knows that the person means no harm. He just loves Trinity to pieces and wants to be anywhere that she is, I don't know what they would do without each other. His recent weigh in is 147 lbs and 35 inches at the shoulder.

Griffin is now coming to work with me every Saturday and to the nursing home every Thursday. He is a registered Therapy Dog and just loves his job. He has an awesome personality, one to whom you can sit down and feel like you are having a conversation with. He wins the heart of many people doing what he does. He is always excited to go on rides and meet new people. His recent weigh in is 118 lbs and 34 inches at the shoulder.

We just love our puppers, they are the joy of our life, I don't know what I would do without them.

Pray for Nicki

We had a terrible mishap yesterday at our farm. While Jason and I were at work, my quarter horse "Nicki" got caught up in the hay elevator, that we had butted right up to the back of the barn, and gashed herself up in many places and laid her chest/belly area wide open.

Jason went to feed them there supper last night and came into the house, and said "you have to call the vet, Nicki is hurt" I instantly called the vet and told them what Jason had told me and I was second in the list on emergency call. We called the vet around 5:30 and they showed up at 7:00. Two vets ended up coming out. They sedated her, cleaned up all he wounds, gave her a tetanus, antibiotic, and pan killer. The vet said that she has already got infection, it is a deep, long, wide gash. He was unable to stitch, since the skin was already dead and infection already begun. So he sterilized the cut, removed all the dead skin, and crimped (maybe not correct word use) the veins off so she would stop bleeding since they wasn't able to stitch her wound. She is one 6400 mg antibiotics twice a day and 1 mg of butte twice a day. I am so worried for my baby. Please everyone say a prayer for her in hopes she will be strong and get through this

Wonderful Weekend

Jason and I had a wonderful weekend. My brother and his girlfriend Stephanie came to visit. The four of us went out to eat saturday night and watched the BIG Ohio State vs Texas game. Buckeyes WON!!! Yipeee!!!! I attempted to make Buckeyes for us all to eat. They were pretty tasty, but weren't the prettiest looking...lol....Then sunday morning when we all woke up my brother Josh and I made everyone a yummy breakfast and lots of coffee.

Jason and I are both so happy to have met Steph she is so nice and her and my brother Josh make such a wonderful couple. I am so happy for them both and to see such smiles on their faces when they are together.

Snickers

I just wanted to give everyone an update on Snickers situation. Snickers is a rescue cat Jason and I have had as a member of our family for about 3 years now. We just love her to pieces, but ever since we have welcomed Kane and Trinity into our family, she has been stressed out to the max. She is afraid to come downstairs, she starves for attention, and just not a healthy environment for her. Jason and I have talked over and over about what would be the best for Snickers. Jason and I would hate to see her go, but don't think its fair to keep in her that type of stressful enviroment being 7 years old either.

Grandma and I went to a nursing home visit with Griffin yesterday and an idea just struck me right across the face. My Grandma is like my Mom to me, her and I are VERY close. She is fighting cancer and also taking care of my uncle, who is slow. So she has a VERY stressful life. My Grandma used to have a cat, when my Dad was little and she talks about that cat (Kathy) all the time. So I talked to Grandma about Snickers situation and offered Snickers to Grandma. She had told me that she would love to have her, but afraid what Grandpa might say.

Yesterday afternoon Grandma went home and nothing but 1 hr later she calls me up in high spirits and says that Grandpa says that she can welcome Snickers into their family. She immediatly had a pen and paper to write down all the items needed for Snickers to feel at home with them and off to the petstore she went. I have never seen my Grandma so happy in such a long time. I am heartbroke that Snickers will be leaving us, but at the same time, so happy to see such a smile on Grandma's face. She is already talking about making her a special bed and making toys for her with catnip. Grandma will be over tonight to pick Snickers up.

I just wanted to pass this short story along about Snickers, our loving little furbaby.

It's Been a While...

Hey everyone! Been a while since I have posted an update of any sort, so I thought I would update you all. Jason and I are doing wonderful, not much new in our lives at this point, just trying to get through the summer heat.
The pups are doing great. Griffin has come allergy issues, but we are working through them. Trinity is getting bigger by the day and just maturing so quickly. Kane is just being Kane....lol...laid back as ever. Griffin has two more observations before becoming a certified therapy dog. He has a visit on Aug 14th and the other is the end of September. In the meantime we have been going to the local nursing home in Upper Sandusky (Fairhaven) and having lots of visits. We have had allot of wonderful quality time together and brought smiles to allot of peoples faces.
Jason and I are both looking forward to the fall, so we can enjoy outdoor activites a bit more. We were just talking this morning Oct is our year anniversary, seems like our wedding was only a few weeks ago...lol Jason is the love of my life, I love him dearly.

Anne you are in my prayers...

In memory of your fathers passing this I wrote for you,

The special bond and memories you shared will never let you be apart
Because they now are treasures tucked deep within your heart.
May the love of family and friends surround you and wrap you in its care
And know that you will always be in my thoughts and in my prayers.

I love you Anne!

Griffins Update

Went great! Griffin passed. The only somewhat mishap that happened, was when we took a walk with the trainer to see how he handled, there was some kids be VERY loud and obnoxious in the front yard of her neighbors house. There was a aluminum boat sitting out front and a metal truck cap, and the kids were jumping off the boat onto the truck cap. It went on for at least 20 min. The kids were very young like age 3 to 7. So he was preoccupied and wouldn't listen very well, but the trainer understood. We took him into the garage and he listened like and angel. He was such a good boy. Now we have to be observed three times with the therapy group. If he passes the three observations then he will be certified. Yipee!! He is on his way.

Griffins Big Day

Griffin has a big day on July 5th. I have made an appointment for him to take a test, if he passes this test, he will be on his way to be a certified Therapy dog. I am so excited. I am sure this will be something Griffin and I can both enjoy. I found out that there is a group of people that go to all the nursing homes and hospitals with in a certain mile range of were I live and visit a place once to twice a month and there dogs visit the patients. If Griffin passes we will to them become a member of this group. The other exciting thing it that my Grandma is going to share the enjoyment with me. I am so nervous for Griffins big day. If he knew about it I am sure he would be too...lol...
P.S. Mommy loves you Griffin I am sure you will do fine.

Horrible Storm Sweeps Through Ohio

Tornado sirens sent residents of Findlay and Hancock County running for cover Thursday afternoon, as severe thunderstorms pounded northwest Ohio for the third time in less than 24 hours.
I was at work frightened. The sky got terribly dark and it looked as evil as I ever saw it before. I was hearing sirens go off all over and the storm just getting closer.

Then all the sudden the rain started pounding on the roof, 4:00 in the afternoon at work. All the sudden my name gets paged over the intercome, I pick it up and its my friend Laura from Findlay. She warns me about the storm that is heading our way, 80 mile mph winds, 1/4 inch size hail and tornado warnings sorrounded us. Then all the sudden I hear the dial tone. As of now I still haven't got ahold of her, but I am in hopes that her electric just is out.
In the town of Upper Sandusky, 13 miles south of were I live, which is were my Grandma lives and many of my family members. It looks as a war zone in that town. Trees fallen straight through houses, shingles and siding ripped off house, cimis turned over left and right, and lightening struck the hospital and put a hold straight through the roof. People were evacuated from the hospital as it was just running on generator. I am thankful that nothing has happened to us and no deaths have occured to my knowledge.

Father's Day

Griffin presented the fathers day present to Jason early Sunday morning and Jason broke out in tears when he saw it. He couldn't believe we did all that just for him. Then I got him a card with dogs on it and wrote a note in there from the pups. I also bought him a hat that Trinity had tore up about a month ago, he had this Dale Jr. hat he wore ALL the time and it was his favorite, well one day Trinity thought it was a toy and chewed it up.

So low and behold I found another hat just like it on Saturday and wrapped it up. Then I wrote a sorry note from Trinity to Jason and gave him the hat. I think his fathers day turned out pretty good.

Father's Day Gift

Last night the pups and I worked a few hours on a present for Daddy. The pups wanted to make something special for Jason for fathers day on Sunday. So they decided they wanted to make him a special blanket to cuddle up with, but add a bit of some puppy love. This is what they have come up with so far.

Trinity had so much fun running around with paint on her feet making footprints, Kane wasn't sure what was going on he just wanted to eat the paint, and Griffin didn't want nothing to do with paint on his paws, he was a happy camper when I washed his feet.

But they all decided that is was all worth it for Daddy.

Wonderful Evening!

Last night I came home from work and feed the pups their supper, and as I was looking out the back window I seen Nicki (my Quarter Horse) just staring at me. Just fealt like for a second we connected. After the pups were through with supper I went to the barn and got Nicki's halter and lead. Usually Nicki gives me a bit of a hard time when I try and catch her, but not today. She came right up to me and slipped her head right in the halter. So I got Nicki out and we took a short ride down the field. By the time we got to the other end of the field and turned around, I looked off in the distance and could just see the sun beginning to set. We stopped and just enjoyed the peace and quiet and the beautiful scenery. I layed my head on Nicki's main and gave her a big hug around the neck. Granted I have had Nicki for almost 6 years now, but just at that very moment it just seemed like we connected like never before. I realized that I need to be taking more time out to spend with her, even if its just for a 10 min ride. Last night was just a wonderful evening! Nicki I love you!!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

My weekend was just wonderful! Friday Me, Griffin, Brianna, and Titan all went to the Pet Store and had a blast. Titan and Griffin got along wonderfully, which really surprised me. Griffin went up to a little girl and gave her a big kiss across the face and the poor girl didn't know what to think, but Griffin's tail was going 100 mph....lol

Saturday I spent most of the day with the pups. Kane and I went to a car show down the road at an ice cream place. Kane had his very first ice cream cone. He wasn't to sure about it, he made me spoon feed it to him. Everyone got a kick out of that. He got hot real quick, so we weren't there to awful long and headed back home to Griffin and Trinity.

Sunday we headed out about 10:15 a.m. to the Dog Park for a wonderful afternoon of playing with other pups and a yummy cookout. Suprising enough Kane was the best behaved. For some reason Griffin fealt that he had to dominate another husky and tried mounting him, I don't know why he did that for sure. And Trinity, she is a story in herself...lol....We all got there early, Nate and Brianna went and they took there to dogs, Titan and Libby. None of us knew how our dogs would act for sure, so we wanted to get there before anyone else. Wonderfully enough they all acted great, but since we got there before anyone else did, Trinity must have thought she could run the joint...lol....she inspected every dog that came through the door, if she didn't like them she would bark at them, but if she did like the she would wage her tail and wanna play. Towards the end of the afternoon she was quit the agrivated little girl, so anyone that would come in her little area of shade was sorry...lol...so needless to say she was on the leash for the remainder of about 1/2 hr before we left. Overall we all had a blast.

Monday we spent the morning with the pups, I took them a ride in the vehicle up town, they always love that. Then around 3:30 we headed to Jasons parents for a cookout and motorcycle ride. Got home around 6:30 and we were all tired for the rest of the evening.

I have to admit I have had the most fun this weekend than I have had in a long time.

Thank You!

I was just sitting here thinking how lucky I am and how wonderful life really is. I am the type of person that is always on the go and hurry from one task to the next, and hardly ever just sit back and look around me. If anyone is familiar with country music the song that goes "Rushing Rushing till lifes no fun, All I gotta do is live and die, but I am in a hurry and don't know why" that totally describes my life.
But just at this moment I am sitting back thinking about how I have a wonderful husband, three loving dogs and a secure job. Some people may never have that in there whole life. I went shopping with my Grandma last night and that was the most fun I had in a while. Just spending time with her, talking, and going out to eat. Last night made me realize that life is there to be enjoyed and I need to do that more often. It is like I just woke up and smelled to coffee, so to speak. I love my life, my husband, my family, my friends, and my pups, I wouldn't want my life to be any different. I have such loving caring friends that always lift me up when I am down and that in itself something that I thought I may never have. I just want to thank my family, friends, and husband for making my life to wonderful.

Trinity is Home

Yesterday I picked Trinity up shortly after 12:00 and the poor girl had this big ol e-collar on and didn't know what to think of it. She looked real scared and sad. I got down on my knees and said "baby girl its me" and gave her a kiss on the nose. She then started wiggling her little but in excitement. I took the car to pick her up instead of the expedition so she could get in it without any pain, but then the problem I had was that the darn e-collar was so big, she could hardly fit in the front seat. Everytime she turned around she would bonk me upside the head...lol...so the e-collar came off. I got her home and put her on the leash, while the boys acted like crazy men, because their baby sister was back. As soon as everyone settle down I took the leash off baby Trinity and ever since then Kane has not left her side. The boys know that she is hurting so they are being really good about not being rough with her. Jason and I couldn't bare to leave her in the kennel all night, so I carefully picked up her behind and Jason picked up her front by hold her chest and we ever so gently layed her in bed. Thats were she stayed the rest of the night. The incision is about as long as my hand (exactly as Lisa told me it would be), the vet ended up using staples instead of disolvable stitches, so she has to go back in 10 to 14 to get them removed. You can tell she is in pain because she isn't herself, but hopefully in a few days that will change. I am just so happy our baby girl is back and in our arms.

Surgery

Our baby Trinity is going under surgery tomorrow morning. She is having the Gastropexy and Spay done, also removing a hernia. I know this may sound like a simple surgery, but I know anything can happend under surgery nomatter how simple the surgery is. I am praying that all goes smooth and that she has a quick recovery. We love our little girl and just hate to even think of her to be in pain. I ask you to please pray for our baby girl.
