Kayler's First Christmas

Hey everyone! Can you believe it. It's Christmas already. Kayler is 7 months old. Hard to imagine. Kayler had some christmas pictures taken of which I have posted a few of them. I don't have any new stats on her, since she hasn't been to the doctor since her 6 month visit, but I can say that she has one tooth popped through and another working it's way. She now rolls over, has no eagerness to crawl yet. Can stand when holding onto something for a short period of time and talks up a storm (in her own language :-))

She did excellent sitting on Santa's lap. She didn't cry or get scared. She was interested in his beard though, of which she held onto while sitting on his lap. We are so proud of her.

Kayler's 6 month Doctor Visit

Kayler's 6 month check-up when great! She weighs 16 lbs 1 oz (50%) and 25 inches in length (25%). She also got her 6 month shots and her flu shot. She was just a big girl, only cried for a few seconds and then was all smiles.

Dr. Orr said that she is finally getting better with he chest cold after 6 1/2 weeks. They are taking her off the Prednizone today and she will still need breathing treatments of pulmicort through the winter. The last two nights she slept through the night and we are so happy for that. We think she must be feeling much better.

The doctor said to start her on stage 2 babyfood after she is finished with the stage 1 we have. We are also to start her on the dissolving cereal treats that Gerber makes so she get's familiar with feeding herself. Another new step is to introduce the sippy cup. The doctor said she may just play with it, but she has 6 months of practice until she needs to know all the in's and out's of the sippy cup. :-) We are so proud of our little girl and can't believe she is growing up so fast.

Kayler's 5 mo. Doctor Visit

Kayler overall had a pretty good check-up. The upside is that she is 14 lbs 15 oz (55th percentile), 24 1/2 inches in height (30th percentile), and 41.4 cm head circumference (45th percentile).

The downside is that she has a chest cold and it's been three weeks so they sent her to the hospital to get chest x rays. Getting the x rays was one of the worst things I have ever had to go through with her. She was restricted in like a plastic tube type deal and she screamed the entire time. The second it was over I snatched her up and cuddled her like no tomorrow. She stopped crying pretty quickly and hopefully forgot what she had to go through. The chest xrays showed that she had mucus build up in her chest so her doctor put her on breathing treatments. We are hopeful she will get through this and get better very soon.

Kayler's 4 mo. check-up

Kayler's check-up went great. Dr. Orr saw her, she checked her weight (14 lbs 8 oz), Length (24 in.) and head circumference (41 cm). Her weight is in the 75th percentile, length is in the 48th percentile, and head circumference is in the 50th percentile. Dr. Orr said that she looked great, she was amazed how well she had head control and her ability to sit up with little help from me. Kayler also got her second round of immunizations and was such a big girl about it. She cried for about 10 seconds, but once I snuggled her and gave her her binkie she calmed right down.

She gave me the ok to start her on cereal of which she had her first experience last night and LOVED it. She also is to be on 2 oz of pear juice a day. Kayler is loving the cereal and pear juice. All in all a WONDERFUL visit. I am so proud of our little girl.

Dr. Orr said that she looked great and that whatever we are doing to keep on, because she is a happy healthy baby. Poor little girl cried when she got measured and weighed, but besides that she was all smiles. We are so proud of her.

Kayler's Baptism

Kayler got baptised today. Everything went pretty well. It was wonderful to see so many people show up for the occasion. Kayler's Grandma and Grandpa Shaw were there, Aunt Angie, Uncle Jason, Cousins Ellie and Easton. Also Great Grandma & Grandpa Schmidt, Great Uncle Lon, Great Great Aunt Darlene, Mama Tami, Grandpa Schmidt, Uncle Josh and Aunt Stephanie, Cousin Alivia, and God Parents Jeremiah and Anita and god brother Brodie. Pastor Jarrod baptised her and Great Great Aunt Darlene and Carol took pictures. Kayler wore a beautiful white dress trimed in lace.

After the baptism we had a big gathering at our house with the whole family. We ate party subs from subway, a delicious cake from Sister's bakery, and lots of wonderful side brought by Great Grandma Schmidt and Grandma Shaw. It was a perfect day for our special little Miss Kayler.

Trinity you will be greatly missed sweetie...

Our baby girl Trinity has found a new and wonderful home. Her new Mommy Carrie and Daddy Tom welcomed her into their home yesterday. Our hearts are very heavy as we loved her dearly and she will always be our baby girl. We know this is best for her and she will soon realize that too. When I am sitting on the couch at night I miss he cuddled at my side and when I sleep I miss her snuggled with me. There is such a void in our hearts and home that it will take a long while to heal, but we know with Carrie and Tom we couldn't of found the more perfect home for our little baby girl. We love you sweetie.

Griffin 12/18/2004 - 02/03/2010

The love of our life Griffin has passed the rainbow bridge yesterday 02-03-2010. He was admitted to ICU on Saturday and fought hard for his life, but unfortunately a terrible infection that had gone septic was unstoppable. We feel that part of our life has been taken away from us and our hearts are torn in two. He was only 5 years old and through a series of bad events led to the death of the most wonderful dog anyone could ever meet. He truly was human to us, and will NEVER be forgotten. A poem below is for our baby boy who is no longer with us.

Tribute To Our Baby Boy
Sunlight streams through our window pane unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,it's where you used to lie,but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet, and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road, and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for our baby boy
until we meet above.
